Completed Table Runner

This is a table runner I had started a long time ago, and I finally got around to finishing. It's similar to the table cloths I've done in the past (the pattern came from the same bargain bin!)

Unfortunately, I don't really own a table that would call for a table runner....or that would even display it well... so you can see it here on my ironing board. You get the general idea.

  1. Hey Jessica!

I have just recently taken up cross stitching (I'm not yet embroidering) and saw this post. WOW - what a BEAUTIFUL handkerchief!! I'm specifically looking to make a hobby out of cross stitching handkerchiefs like this. I really love the look of embroidery, but I don't know how to do it.

Quick question-- where do you get these handkerchiefs?? I've been searching all over and they seem really expensive. Can you give me advice on how to find some blanks?

  2. I wish I knew where to find them, because I definitely want more! Unfortunately, I have no idea. My mom found a stack of them in a bargain bin at the store on an American Air Force base in Germany (and who knows where the store got them from!). She snatched them up for cheap and sent them to me. It is significant to note that the embroidery I've done isn't free-hand on blank cloth. These were pre-printed with blue ink that washes off.

I was terrified of embroidery when I started, but it's really not that hard. I'd be happy to post some mini-tutorials on some basic stitches.
